Product no.: 040-HD E

In this film series, Andreas Güttner, Guro of the IKAEF and certified sports instructor, shows the basics of Filipino martial arts. Filipino martial arts are best known under the names Kali, Arnis and Eskrima.  The special thing about them is that they are practiced with different weapons right from the start.

The first part deals with the historical background and training with two or one stick. Training with a double stick, known as sinawali, offers the opportunity to train both halves of the body equally. Simple to complex striking patterns train coordination and peripheral vision. Practicing with a stick includes striking, blocking, leverage and disarming techniques. Reaction speed and defensive behavior are trained through various drills that combine striking and blocking techniques.

The second part deals with the knife, the unarmed application Kadena de Mano, the Filipino boxing Panantukan and provides brief insights into kickboxing Sikaran and wrestling which is known as Dumog. Methodically clearly structured control and disarming techniques are shown against knife attacks.  The unarmed training Kadena de Mano is based on the movement principles of the weapon arts. Special drills at close range train timing and coordination. Basic techniques and combinations with and without claws form a good basis for learning the various strikes in Panantukan.
