HD Series Panatukan Filipino Boxing Part 1 & 2

Building on the same basic school as Western boxing, Filipino boxing goes further and is oriented less towards competition and much more towards boxing for the street. In addition to the classic boxing techniques, other techniques and areas of the body are also used as “weapons”: Fist ground, open hands, forearms, elbows, shoulders ... In addition, pulling and pushing techniques are used to position the attacker or disrupt his balance, all with the aim of effective self-defense.
 
In part 1 of our two-part Filipino Boxing series, we show the basics, such as arm and leg positions, footwork, basic strikes of “classic” and “Filipino” boxing, pad work, basic defense and counter techniques, as well as advanced techniques after a successful punch defense. Finally, the most important basic principles are explained again using examples.
 
In Part 2 of our two-part Filipino Boxing series, we show complementary hand positions and footwork, empty hands applications of double stick techniques, advanced defenses and counters, drills, body manipulations, foot trapping, sparring games and the application of Panantukan techniques within other areas of Filipino martial arts.

The authors of this film are Timm Blaschke and Marcus Ruddies, 6th Dan “Guro” Filipino Fighting Arts, 5th Dan “Guro” Kali Sikaran, 2nd Dan “Madunong” Inayan Eskrima and Instructor JKD - Kali.
